Get Creative While Painting Your Walls

You can definitely paint your walls white, but with so many creative painting techniques that have come around, why be boring? There are so many different ways that people are painting their walls. It can be wonderful coming home to a colorful and creative home.

You can use paint to say something about yourself or set the mood for the room. Painting your room a certain way can actually make you happier. The psychologically calming effect that paint has is unmatched. After you are done painting your home, it will feel like a completely new place.

1. Stenciling

Wall stenciling is a new and simple way to add some sophistication to the walls in your home. All you need is to order a stencil you like online and get a professional painter to add it to your walls. The internet is full of inspiration for various stencils.

2. Harlequin

Harlequin wall patterns can be really special to decorate your room with. It adds movement and life to the room. You can use it in any room you want since it goes in the kitchen, master bedroom or nursery. Use contrasting colors if you want a sophisticated design.

3. Stripes

Stripes are one really easy way to add some life to an otherwise dull room. They never go out of style and incorporating them into the room is very easy. They add some texture to the room and can be very visually appealing.

4. Color Wash

Color wash can really give some unique depth to the room. It is fairly easy to apply and is truly a beautiful paint technique. Even if you only get one wall in the room color washed while the others are a bright color, it looks great. It really gives the whole room a more vintage looking upgrade.

5. Strie

It is derived from the French word streaking. This unique paint technique creates vertical or horizontal lines that look like a linen material. It adds texture to the room and a little vibrancy that would otherwise be missing.

6. Dripping Technique

If there is a boring white color on your walls and you don’t want to spend a fortune getting the whole room repainted, you can use this technique. This technique just uses some syringes and needles to add a little color to the room. Fill some syringes with different paints and let them drip down from the top.

7. Rag Rolling

This technique literally means rolling a rag up and down on the newly painted walls. This adds a little depth and texture to the wall. It definitely will never look boring in your home. You won’t even have to change any aesthetic in your home to accommodate this technique since it’s so subtle.

8. Sponging

Sponging uses a sponge paint roller to add a unique texture to the paint job. You can even use two different colors to sponge on your wall which adds a unique twist. It’s very easy to do, but can be time consuming so you may want to hire an expert painter. It looks great on any wall.
